The silver plated table bells, candle dimmers, rattles and book marks are hand made by Fidel and his brother Alejandro in central Mexico. They work from home and when there is a lot of work the neighbor gives them a hand. As a recognized 'fair trade' supplier Simbólica Fair Trade ensures a reasonable wage, safety of the workplace and supports producers in their development through training, export assistance, etc. The relationship between Simbólica Fair Trade and producer is always direct.
The basic material of this silver-plated articles are brass or alpaca and after that the product gets a silver bath. Both the table bell and the candle carry angels for Christmas or a heart for other special occasions. The bells with the heart are often given as a wedding gift, or just as a gift by the bride and groom at the intimate dinner for friends and family.
These articles are wrapped in special paper and packaged in a green box. The packaging was developed through collaboration with co-supplier Sawa Hasa. In a fair trade project in Thailand, these boxes for Simbólica Fair Trade are custom and handmade from the bark of the mulberry. The bark grows back completely within 3 years. Since for this paper no trees are cut down, it’s environment friendly.
